The General Purpose gripping aid is essential for a wide range of tasks – at home, in the gym or in daily life. It gently, but firmly, pulls your hand around the object you would like to hold.
The gripping aids function by tightening the strap in the upper section, which gently pulls the hand into a fist shape, adjusting to hold items in the palm. The wrist strap is also adjustable and the aid is padded to reduce chafing. Our video contains instructions on how to put the aids on, or you can download our General Purpose instructions.
If you are finding these a bit beyond your budget, why not take a look at our fully functional factory seconds? Our new starter made a few that weren’t quite up to our strict standards but will work just fine. Limited sizes available.

Which size General Purpose gripping Aid should I buy?
Most adults find that our ‘Standard’ size fits them. However, gripping aids are also available in ‘Small’ (for adults with especially petite hands and children aged over five) and ‘Large’ sizes. For children aged under 5 please see our General Purpose ‘Mini‘ size. See the size guide tab above to find out which size is best for you.
If you have missing fingers or hand parts then please take a look at our Limb Difference aid as the General Purpose may not be suitable for you.
Made of Strong Stuff
Active Hands aids are both gentle on the skin and made to last. Built from tough webbing and comfortable but durable neoprene (wet suit material) they’re designed to withstand regular use, even for strenuous activities. All of our gripping aids are machine washable!
For Heavier Use
For most gym users and athletes these general purpose gripping aids should be easily strong enough. They are designed and manufactured for most user’s needs for rehab, gym and strength training. Due to different use cases and hand function, we cannot give an exact weight limit for our gripping aids. However, they should allow a user with a body weight of up to 100kg to overcome grip issues when doing gym and rehab exercises (including bodyweight exercises).
For users of a higher weight, or those requiring grip assistance when lifting at the more extreme levels of weight lifting, body building and strength training, we now also offer an uprated version, specifically designed for heavy use. These Heavy Duty gripping aids have several uprated components, including stronger webbing, thicker and denser neoprene padding, more stitching and metal buckles.
